ORANGE — Velma Jeter Manor in Orange flooded out during Tropical Storm Harvey. Over 80 families were displaced and forced to live in temporary housing for the last several months.

Land Commissioner George P. Bush partnered with Governor Greg Abbott on the Multifamily Housing Pilot project; which raised enough funds to help rebuild Southeast Texas.

Close to $1 million was given to the apartment complex. Families are expected to move in soon.
